Sony Sports & Star Sports Network bagged the official broadcasting rights for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, while JioHotstar and SonyLiv will provide the live streaming of the tournament, including the Pakistan vs India match scheduled on February 15, 2026.

PTV Sports has purchased the broadcasting rights for the Twenty20 World Cup 2026 in partnership with Myco and Geo Super. In Pakistan, fans can watch the T20 WC 2026 matches on PTV Sports and Geo Super, while live streaming will be available on Myco, Tapmad, Tamasha, and ARY ZAP.

Sky Sports is the official broadcaster, with coverage available on Sky Sports Cricket, Main Event, and Action, as well as the Sky Go and NOW apps. Also, TNT Sports will provide the matches live in the UK.

This edition features twenty teams, making it a historic tournament. The teams are divided into four groups. Each group consists of five teams; the top two teams from each group qualify for the Super Eight stage. Here are the teams from each group:

For the first time in the tournament’s history, 20 teams will play 55 matches across 8 venues: 5 in India (Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata) and 3 in Sri Lanka (Colombo’s R. Premadasa and SSC, and Kandy’s Pallekele).

T20 World Cup 2026: Opening Ceremony

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will have a “spectacular opening day of cricket” with matches starting on February 7, 2026. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will likely kick off with a grand event in Mumbai or Kolkata on February 7, 2026, ahead of the opening matches in India. The tournament begins with three games scheduled for the opening day across two countries:

  • Match 1: Netherlands vs Pakistan, SSC, Colombo
  • Match 2: West Indies vs Scotland, Eden Gardens, Kolkata
  • Match 3: India vs USA, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai

T20 World Cup 2026: Format

The tournament begins with 20 teams, divided into four groups (A, B, C, and D) of five teams each. Each team will play against each other in a round-robin format, and the top two teams from each group will advance to the super eight stage.

The eight successful teams are then re-grouped into two Super Eights groups (A & B) with four teams in each. From there, the top two teams from each Super Eight group progress to the knockout semi-finals, and the final to crown the champions on March 8, 2026.

  • Group Stage (February 7–20, 2026): 20 teams are divided into four groups of five teams each. Each team plays every other team in their group once (a round-robin format). The top two teams from each of the four groups advance to the Super Eights.
  • Super Eights (February 21–March 1, 2026): The eight qualifying teams are split into two groups of four, based on pre-tournament seedings. The top two teams from each of the two Super Eight groups move on to the knockout stage.
  • Knockout Stage (March 4–8, 2026): The four qualifying teams compete in two semi-final matches (scheduled for March 4 and 5). The winners of the two semi-finals face each other in the title clash on March 8.
